My Approach

Each client is unique with different life experiences and needs. Therefore, I tailor my approach depending on what you bring, drawing on various theoretical methods and techniques to aid our work together. I offer short term, long term and open-ended counselling, depending on your needs and issues.

We can explore your issues in the present but where useful, we can look at earlier life events and experiences to understand the root or patterns of behaviour. By trying to understand the impact on our emotions and behaviour, it can help us have more awareness of ourselves and relationships now.

Whatever the reason behind seeking counselling, I truly appreciate how daunting it may feel and that it may have taken you a long time to reach this point. I am warm, approachable, and empathic and will do my very best to put you at ease.

Regardless of any theoretical approaches or techniques, I truly believe that it is the relationship between the counsellor and client that makes all the difference. Building an honest and trusting relationship is essential to providing the right environment for positive change to occur. With commitment to the process and working together, real change can happen. Rather than me providing you with advice, we will explore your issues together and help you to discover the answers that lie within.
